I recently saw the documentary "Freakonomics", where they claim that the drop in crime rates in New York and the U.S. in the 1990s was largely due to the legalization of abortions in the 1970s. This claim was backed up by statistics that matched reports from other countries such as Australia and Canada. The logic that baked this theory up was the following: due to the legalization of abortion fewer children where born in homes where there weren't the means of supporting them. So in the 1990s where this children would have been in their twentys and peak crime age, they simply weren't there. What do you think? True or false?

No woman ever got pregnant in order to have an abortion.
