I know that many conservatives fall into the pro-life category when it comes to the abortion debate, but I feel that being pro-choice would make more logical sense within a fiscally conservative ideology. A big theme of conservatism is the idea of limited government and cutting handouts such as food stamps and other assistance programs. The only way for government to cut funding for such programs is for the need for such programs to disappear. Abortions reduce that need; women who need abortions the most are the ones least capable of taking care of a baby on their own due to their socioeconomic status or age. If conservatives want less people to use SNAP and Medicaid, poor women and teenage girls should be given easier access to clinics so that they will not be forced to take out government assistance for a child that they cannot provide for.

The Conservative Case for Abortions
The Conservative Case for Abortions
I agree; I'd like to see the statistics on this. The only thing I could find with virtually no trouble was the cost of sending a child through foster care (roughly $40,000). I posted something similar on abortion if you'd like to give it a look. I'm Republican, but when it comes to abortion, I have a different perspective than what most traditional conservatives say. I like how you put yourself in the mindset of the right-winged instead of asserting your personal prejudice.
