    Drugs and Prison Overpopulation

    One of the greatest effects of the War on Drugs is the growing prison population. According to the Sentencing Project, incarceration rates have increased 500% since America started criminalizing drug use in the 1970s. America now has 2.2 million incarcerated, the largest prison population in the world. How can state and federal government address drugs in terms of criminal justice reform?
