    GED Vs. the SAT

    in Education

Both the GED and SAT gauge where a student is academically, though the purpose of the tests can be quite different. If you're thinking about enrolling in college, you'll need to take one or both of the tests to demonstrate that you're a good candidate for higher education. Knowing the exact differences between the tests will help you determine which one will help you accomplish your goals.

The GED, or General Equivalency Diploma, includes a combination of academic subjects, such as math, literacy and science, that test you on you general understanding of each. Each of the questions on the GED test includes five possible answers, and your job is to choose the correct answer for each test. The SAT, or Scholastic Assessment Test, is a standardized test that most colleges require high school juniors or seniors to take before accepting them for admission.

Thanks for sharing this article with us! I've heard that the new GED is a lot more difficult than the SAT, which might affect which examination people choose to take. Nonetheless, the two exams seem to serve wholly different purposes-the GED for being synonymous to a high school diploma and the SAT for college admissions in the US.
