When it comes to climate change, multilateralism is the answer. Substantial change cannot occur unless many governing bodies work together. Multilateral agreements set standards for each country to follow. Supernational organizations, such as the UN, develops these standards to effectively mitigate climate change. Finally, all of these countries act as checks on another, by making sure that they adhere to the standards laid out.

Great point of view! I totally agree that multilateralism is important and effective for some matters, however I don't think that this will work for climate change due to the fact that each country works differently when it comes to reduction of CO2 or Hydrocarbons. For example, the Kyoto Protocols is pursued to be fulfilled to 2020 and the countries who signed it committed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions; nevertheless, the only country that seems to be achieving this is France. I believe multilateralism will work when big companies unite and be eco-friendly companies. What do you think? :)
