The Senate recently released their healthcare bill, most prominently with modifications to ACA's Medicaid by repealing its expansion to low-income Americans and increasing flexibility for healthcare at the state level.
What are your thoughts and opinions on this bill (in comparison to the House bill as well as the ACA as well as your own country's healthcare system, if you live outside of the US)?
I am a staunch believer that access to health care is fundamental to the development of our country. How can we be great if our people are dying from illnesses that are then causing their families to go bankrupt? Low-income Americans are the people who need healthcare the most. I wish that the motivation to change the ACA was more than just a ploy for politicians to say they stuck to their guns and "repealed Obamacare".
I definitely agree with that! Repealing the ACA requires a well-thought out and developed healthcare plan that won't result in millions of more uninsured people, especially due to cuts to Medicaid. I don't see how the ACHA is anything more than a watered down version of the ACA that'll bring even more grievous effects to the American healthcare system.
Is there any healthcare model that you would recommend America follow?
