To Terminate or Not to Terminate: CSR Payments

    in Healthcare

A recent study by the CBO finds that terminating CSR payments would increase the federal deficit. CSR payments, also known as cost-sharing reduction payments, are "a discount that lowers the amount you have to pay for deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance." Terminating CSR payments is projected to raise the cost for silver premiums.

What are your thoughts on CSR payments? Should they be terminated or not? Should the state, local, and federal governments play a larger or smaller role(s)?
