I think that it is crucial we secure our borders to prevent the disasters that have occurred in other countries with very lenient immigration policy. However, I do not see banning the citizens of multiple countries as a viable prevention method and that instead we should work towards strengthening the security procedures and vetting at home and abroad. I understand it can be difficult to to enforce security or any sort of vetting in some countries because many people are displaced but there has to be a better solution than completely banning the citizens of these countries. I would like to hear people's thoughts and arguments as to why we should open our borders because I think doing so would be foolish considering what has occured in Europe.

I agree with you about the lack in productivity in banning people of certain nationalities and there needs to be some degree of security for our borders. I also do not think that the people our government is banning truly pose a threat. Earlier this year, Trump cited 9/11 as reason for his controversial "Muslim Ban" and refugee immigration cap, but the 19 hijackers were from none of the countries w/immigration ban in place.
The Cato Institute wrote an analysis about statistics on (the extremely rare) terrorist attacks on U.S. soil:

A judge in Hawaii recently blocked President Trump's third attempt at a travel ban, which included seven countries indefinitely stopping travel to the US. What are your thoughts on this?
I think that it's rejuvenating to hear at least some positive news.
