      Catalan's Referendum

Catalans are an ethnic group in northern Spain, many of whom support nationalism and Catalan independentism. Their government's president announced a binding referendum on independence. However, the Spanish constitutional court has "ruled that the referendum law will be suspended while judges consider arguments that the vote breaches the country’s constitution. The courts have previously ruled that a referendum was illegal."

Do you view this referendum as illegal or as legal? Do you support Catalan independentism or oppose it?

Based on the opinion of the Spanish Judicial System, it makes sense that a referendum of only Catalan should be illegal. However, a Nationwide referendum on whether Catalan could secede would be a different story.

A nationwide referendum including the entirety of Spain could be a possibility, but do you believe that independence would win?

        Greek Economic Crisis

Currently the economic and numismatic situation in Greece is tremendously deplorable. The substantive amounts of refugees have culminated in the chaos that has ubiquitously existed after the bailout referendum. Unemployment has risen to 21%, one of the highest figures in Europe. The national debt of Greece places the country in second position worldwide. And regardless of the wage levels, approximately 60% of the gross pay is removed due to extreme income taxes. The prime minister has essentially no diplomatic attitude and has further contributed to the economic crisis that plagues the state. Despite of all the benefits of being a member of the EU, Greece decided to not accept the Troika help, which would possibly assist them in paying any of their debts, while Grexit almost happened. Tax evasion continues to exponentially proliferate, while social welfare is at its lowest. Myriads of people starve, education is limited and work positions have ceased to develop.

        Rohingya Muslim Crisis

In the Rakhine state of Myanmar, there has been an ongoing humanitarian crisis with the military conducting a mass deportation and extermination of the Rohingyan Muslim minority under the rule of Aung San Suu Kyi. Multiple human rights organizations have called it a genocide; while Myanmar has refused to give the UN access to the current crisis, thousands of Rohingyan refugees have witnessed the atrocities that have happened on their flight to the Burmese border. Although the Myanmar government and military have been criticized countless times, refugees are still tortured and killed every day. What are some steps that the international community can take in order to prevent the exacerbation of this crisis?
