    Is Academia a Liberal Occupation?

Academia tends to be predominantly liberal, leading many individuals to declare that there is a "political imbalance" in classrooms. Should universities hire more conservative professors in order to promote viewpoint diversity in the classroom?

If liberals do not even allow for conservative views to be expressed, isn't it against the very definition of liberalism? It is imperative that a balance of ideology across the political spectrum is maintained in the academic institutions.

As is quoted in India, "Ati Sarvatra Varjayet", excess of anything is bad.
