Should "In God We Trust" Be Removed from US Currency? Should the Words "under God" Be in the US Pledge of Allegiance?

I personally don't think so, as this practice is contrary to our ideas of the separation of church and state that help foster religious pluralism in the US. Some claim that because some of the first colonists were those seeking a place to practice their religion without harassment/persecution, (Protestants), we should keep these traditions in things like currency/Pledge of Allegiance. However, it's interesting to take into account that most of this "traditional" religious rhetoric was actually added to currency and the Pledge of Allegiance during the Cold War to distance the US from the secular, communist USSR and promote the "values" which the US felt the Soviets lacked.

I personally believe it should be removed - no citizen in the US should be forced to believe in a specific type of religion. God isn't a good counter to separate the US from the secular, communist USSR; it only enforces the idea that Americans have to be religious.
