      Religion and policy making

Many things about America's Trump presidency have been unprecedented. This week, prominent conservative Texas church leader Robert Jefress openly proclaimed that God has given Trump the authority to eliminate Kim Jong Un. While this comment isnt really remarkable and Kim is a demon who deserves to be mercilessly destroyed, the words highlight a frightening trend that President Trump is taking serious policy advice from religious leaders. Is this new trend worrisome to the rest of you?

I personally believe in the separation of church and state, in that a president shouldn't make his decisions based off the advice or words of a religious leader (reminds me of Iran with the dynamic between the Supreme Leader and President). At the same time, religious leaders such as the Pope often do make advisory suggestions and comments.

''LET A MAN KNOW HE IS HIMSELF, A SPIRITUAL BEING, THAT HE IS CAPABLE OF THE POWER OF CHOICE AND HAS THE RIGHT TO ASPIRE TO GREATER WISDOM AND YOU HAVE STARTED HIM UP A HIGHER ROAD.'' —L. Ron Hubbard Do you agree with what Mr Hubbard said or not? and why?

        Religion and Mental Health

Historically, religion has been linked to hysteria, neurosis, and psychotic delusions, but more recent studies have shown that religion can be used to cope with stress and mental health. Do you think that religion should be used as a resource in order to help cope with mental health issues? https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/talking-about-men/201712/religion-and-mental-health-what-is-the-link

        Religious Misconceptions

Every Religion has some misconceptions Islam, too, isn't an exception. Although I'm not very into Religions, but it really hurts to see Muslims being treated this way just because of misinterpretation of their beliefs. So, lets try bridging this gap as well. I'll list some of the very common misconceptions. Most people think that Muslim Women are not that educated . However, the recent study shows that Saudi and Iranian women are way ahead when it comes to STEM Education. Some people also claim that Islam teaches to be Close Minded and not raise questions. That too is contrary to Islamic Beliefs . Another major misconception is that Muslims are Terrorists . First and foremost, it isn't fair to call someone with that title. Whether it be a Muslim, a Hindu, a Christian, a White or a Black, everyone deserves respect. Secondly, ISIS (which is NOT Islam) is only 0.2 Million ( at Max) in Number whereas there are 1.8 Billion Muslims. Even if someone supposes that ISIS is Islam-based, we can't let 0.011% to represent the whole Muslim Body. Women are inferior to Men is another misconception about Islam. However, Muslim Beliefs are totally against that, and Islam doesn't hold Women inferior to Men . Islam doesn't permit the Over-Throwing of governments . Islam does not hold the Gaining of Political Power as a Muslim’s main Objective . Islam does not deny Religious Freedom to Others . These are some common misconceptions about Islam. Please share this with others as well. Your share can help make world a better place. :) If there is any such misconception about your religion, feel free to comment.
