Religion is often thought of as the ultimate panacea to the woes of the human experience. However, for many people, like those in the LGBTQ community, religion can be more of an obstacle than an ally. We need to be better as a civilization and recognize the strengths of religion ( i.e. the elements that motivates people like Martin Luther King Jr.) and do our bests to combat those aspects of religion that belittle and weaken some people in our society. This is much easier said than done but how can we go about starting to engender tis process?
