Last May, there was an article that came out about some racist remarks yelled at the Orioles' center fielder Adams Jones while playing at Fenway Park in Boston. (https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/orioles/2017/05/19/orioles-adam-jones-racist-slurs-fenway/101873618/)
I heard a lot of interesting comments regarding the situation from people across the country. A fair summary of all these comments would be "Racism in Boston? Really?"... I'll be the first to admit that Boston is extremely progressive when it comes to many social issues. Although, just like many other cities, we still are behind. We're no where close to equity.
One of the things blocking us is the little liberal veil we put on to make us look like good ol' Democrats. Although this veil is what I believe is blinding us from seeing our path towards making actual social (not just legislative) progress.
We have the veil, do you?
