I guess this one is universal... Here in Boston I'm finding that there are so many community organizations dedicated to the same thing (whether it's food access, youth development, civic awareness, or anything else). It's truly great to have so many resources to be able to engage people. Although since many of these organizations are doing the same types of work, they are competing for funds.
I believe the atmosphere of competition between these organizations is what hinders their ability from reaching far. Their refusal to collaborate puts a ceiling above not only them, but the people they are serving. How do we build partnerships? How do we get these people to collaborate?
