Thomas Jefferson once said " We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal" I believe that is a true fact and isn't acknowledged by our president based on the behavior he has shown. He shows he has a lack of education and respect to lead our country. Right now we are not the land of the free and the home of the brave because of our leader. Our president is supposed to lead America and make us proud while we pledge allegiance to our flag. As our pledge says "One nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all" is a powerful statement and American people should be able to be respected and safe no matter their religious beliefs or their ethnicity. I feel Donald Trump becoming president was a significant step back in American history. If Donald Trump was impeached America would be one step closer to being great again.
Donald Trump declaring a national emergency is a horrible abuse of power. Our founding fathers put a division of powers in the constitution to prevent something like this from happening. The Department of Justice has sent a warning to the Trump administration that the president’s emergency declaration will most likely get blocked by the courts. There has been 16 states so far to file a lawsuit against the Trump Administration to challenge the emergency. The house voted 245-182 to overturn the presidents declaration. Thirteen republicans joined the democrats in that vote. Next the issue will go to the senate. If it passes the senate then it will go to the president. The president says he will veto it. In the event of a veto two thirds would be needed in each chamber to override the veto. In the meantime we have to come together as American people and bridge the divide of political parties to save America. What do you think the final result will be? Do you think the declaration of a national emergency was an abuse of power?
