Like every other work industry on the spectrum, sexual harassment is very much existent in the political sphere. And in the midst of women coming out with claims against Al Franken and Roy Moore, there are also those who will try to discredit these accusations. This social climate is what ruined Anita Hill's professional reputation when she accused Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment in the workplace. This is the culture that is clearly still prominent today and we should remember is present when we wonder why women often struggle to admit to being subjected to harassment.

Although Supreme Court justice Brett Kavanaugh has already been appointed to the Supreme Court, the conversation about men in power preventing women (like Anita Hill) from speaking out about issues like sexual assault and harassment has been revived in the nomination process with Prof. Ford's allegations against Kavanaugh. There is still a fight to be fought as a part of a larger movement to continue to help women by empowering them and providing them with necessary resources.
It's very heartbreaking that a case of sexual assault had to be publicized and politicized to the degree that it was. It certainly must have exacerbated any pain that Hill must have felt at the time.
